May Update

I changed the look of the blog again. Once I finish my makeover of Natasha's Gift Shoppe, that look will hopefully be here, too! Just the colors, though, not the logo. I want a baby for the logo on here, of course.

I have taken inventory of all of my kits and it seems one of them has walked off....strange...I just cannot find it! But I will hopefully start working on my kits soon so I can have some more up for adoption hopefully in mid-June, so keep an eye out for that!

Thanks,

Natasha B.

Blog Looking Ugly Temporarily

Umm...this is one thing I still haven't looked into. I don't know why my blog won't take the new template. But I'll fix it, hopefully this weekend, but we'll see.

Update

I'm writing an eBook :)

More details to follow....

I know, I know...

I need to update my website. But the computer that everything is saved on hates me!! It shuts down on me whenever I get on it. But I will get the files transferred to my laptop so I can edit my website whenever I want to.
But for now, I leave you with a comparison of my now-finished custom order, who will go home this week(:

Adoptions...

I sold my Connor Boneham in January and my Gavyn Healey-Turner this month. No more big babies for regular adoption until March (Clara Morgan). Hopefully I'll be able to get some work done on my Morgan remake this weekend, and she'll be up for sale too.

I have a custom Sienna Pratt that I will be starting this week, also. Her kit *should* get here tomorrow.

My Painting Technique

I don't write tutorials anymore. It's time consuming :P I like just general progress photos instead(:

All I'm trying to convey in this post is what colors and tools work for me.

Colors:
Secrist Veins - Had this for a few years now, it's a petite jar and has lasted through many babies.
BB Lip/Blush/Nail - This is my one go-to blush tone. It's the only red I even have. I love it!
Flesh 02 - I always use this instead of burnt umber, which is good since i ran out!

Tools:
Stencil brush - blush details
berry maker - lifelike skin texture
tweezered sponge - have 2 of these that have been in use for a couple of years now. LOVE these for realistic skin textures!
Glass plates - I have a clear one from Salvation Army and a white one from....somewhere. don't remember. but they are my favorites to use for palettes. I also have a porcelain daisy palette that I use from time to time.

Those are my most used colors and tools/faves for reborning. If there's anything else you want to see posted on the blog, just send me an email or comment on this blog post!

I don't know why I never noticed...

Everyone is complaining about different vinyl colors, especially BB's grey vinyl... never notice vinyl changes, like in the beginning with their pink vinyl. My babies always come out fine and I rarely ever do neutralizing washes. I've only done it once on a yellow-y kit from another company. I never fight the natural color. I always design a color palette to work with it. I guess it just all has to do really with the individual artist, of course.

McKenna - Not For Sale!!

This is a baby in my collection, little McKenna. She is a 9" Berenguer LaNewborn and I blushed her with acrylics and applied premium black mohair but it is sealed on so it cannot be brushed or removed. I made her a cloth diaper, headband , and a pillowcase dress....comments??

Making Plans for the new dolls....

So far I have the following babies planned for this year:
*Morgan remake - In Progress, first layer of paint on
*Clara Morgan - Due in March
*Kiri Pratt Makeover - Need to buy Winsor/Newton brush cleaner to strip her and start repainting
*Annie Rubert - I want to make a toddler!!!! :DDD She will have cute little pigtails, probably blonde or light brown....
*Gracie Timmerman - I have wanted to do this kit for about a year now, just never ordered her(:

I'm working on deciding hair colors, eye colors, and what material/source of the bodies. I'm toying with the idea of making one for Morgan.

I'm also starting on Kiri's clothes, and the tiny patterns were intimidating at first, but I have a onesie almost finished today!

As always, thanks for reading and following!(:

I preordered a new kit due in March!

I placed my preorder for a new kit coming out by Toby Morgan, CLARA!!

Clara is only 17 inches long and she will be in the nursery sometime in late March or early April. I hope to have her finished before June. She will have most likely blonde hair and dark blue/gray eyes. She is sooo cute!!!! I can't wait! And hopefully I'll be able to post the other kits soon, once they are either on order or preordered from the companies.

Thanks for reading!!

New Doll In The Works....

I am doing a sort of 'tribute' to my first doll I ever made. Her name was Morgan and she was a Berenguer Lots to Cuddle (1/4 limbs) with full limbs from a Berenguer Carry Me doll.

As you can see in the picture, the eyes on this baby are BLUE. a little side note: yes, the finished original Morgan's eyes were Green, but the first set I had was Blue. I am going with the first Morgan concept for this baby. I love how this one came with full limbs already so that part is taken care of. I am still working on finding a body for her and I haven't decided if she will be microrooted like my current babies or if she will have a wig, but most likely a wig.

She has one layer of paint so far, a mixture of Flesh 08 and Flesh 07.

Happy New Year!

I have reopened a website in case anyone hasn't noticed. I won't be doing much with it, as I am selling babies through Natasha's Gift Shoppe from now on, so you can still purchase my babies. Custom orders are still on an email basis until I get the form ready for my website. Thank you for your continued support and let's have a wonderful year!
